Abstract
⺠Detection of food adulterations is a challenging analytical issue. ⺠Reflectance NIR spectroscopy was used to detect addition of barley to coffee. ⺠PLS regression was used for building quantitative models. ⺠D-optimal design was applied for building a representative training set. ⺠Prediction ability was evaluated on a completely external test set.
