Abstract
A review of transonic flow problems that admit multiple numerical solutions at given stationary boundary conditions is presented. We consider inviscid and turbulent flows past symmetric and asymmetric airfoils. When solutions are non-unique, the attainment of a certain solution is governed by the time history of the free-stream parameters. Physical phenomena that cause the non-uniqueness are discussed.
