Abstract
⺠We tested proteolytic enzymes to evaluate metal bioaccessibility in marine sediments. ⺠We compared metal release from sediments by use of enzymatic and chemical extractions. ⺠Proteinase K is able to qualitatively mimic metal uptake in deposit-feeder organisms.
