Abstract
- Structural and chemical changes of benzoic acid (BA) were examined under pressure to 33Â GPa.
- Raman spectra indicted possible phase transition between 6 and 8Â GPa.
- Modification in the dimer structure suggested above 6Â GPa.
- Chemical transformation of BA revealed on compression and subsequent decompression.
- Chemical form of the recovered compound suggested as inferred from the FTIR spectra.
