Abstract
⺠Extrusion of giant vesicles (GUVs) and multilamellar vesicles (MLVs) was compared. ⺠Drug encapsulation potential of extruded GUVs was found to be higher compared to MLVs. ⺠Single extrusion of GUVs produced small liposomes of narrow size distribution. ⺠Fluid velocity in membrane pore dictates radius of liposomes formed by GUV extrusion.
