Abstract
⺠The domain shape in monolayers of DMPC and SA at pH4 depends on composition. ⺠There is a shape change from flower-like to circular domains at 40-45 mole% of SA. ⺠This change is related to domain density, thus to domain nucleation. ⺠We identified the factors determining domain shape and distribution in this system. ⺠This could be a way of self-regulating the membrane properties.
