Abstract
⺠We examine lipid structure as a function of water content in human stratum corneum. ⺠At 20-30 wt% water content in human stratum corneum the structure becomes stable. ⺠The stabilization process works as regulation mechanism for the water content. ⺠The water content at skin surface can be studied by isolated stratum corneum.
