Abstract
⺠We report novel diacylacetate quaternized amine (AQ) zwitterionic lipids. ⺠AQ lipids exhibit transition temperatures similar to those of PE lipids. ⺠AQ lipids interact with anions according to the Hofmeister series. ⺠AQ liposomes demonstrate similar in vivo properties to DSPC liposomes. ⺠AQ lipids have distinct biophysical properties from PC lipids that may be useful in drug delivery.
