Abstract
Heterocycles are ubiquitous and have thus aroused numerous methods to prepare them. Most of these methods however rely on stoichiometric processes and more recently on homogeneous catalysis. To go towards greener syntheses, heterogeneous catalysis is currently developing, with a special emphasis on the use of zeolites, either acidic or metal-doped. This review aims at providing an overview of the known syntheses of heterocycles mediated by zeolites and at giving the current and future trends in this area.
