Abstract
The onset dehydrogenation temperature for the Mg2NiH4-LiBH4Â +Â 20Â wt% LaH3 composite after annealing is 43Â K lower than that of the Mg2NiH4-LiBH4 composite. LaH3 plays a key role in catalyzing the dehydrogenation of Mg-based alloys by expanding/contracting the lattices, as well as in catalyzing the reaction between Mg2NiH4 and LiBH4.118
