Abstract
The onset dehydrogenation temperature for the Mg2NiH4-LiBH4 + 20 wt% LaH3 composite after annealing is 43 K lower than that of the Mg2NiH4-LiBH4 composite. LaH3 plays a key role in catalyzing the dehydrogenation of Mg-based alloys by expanding/contracting the lattices, as well as in catalyzing the reaction between Mg2NiH4 and LiBH4.118
