The geometries, electronic structures, and phosphorescent emission properties of three cyclometalated (CˆC*) platinum(II) NHC complexes are investigated using the methods of the density functional theory and time-dependent density functional theory to explore the relationship between the electronegativity of NHC ligand and the phosphorescence quantum yield.196
