Abstract
Hybrid doping of ZnO and Na3PO4 are employed to improve the sintering ability and the proton conductivity of BaZr0.9Y0.1O3-δ. Ceramic is obtained by sintering at 1260 °C, the lowest sintering temperature for BaZrO3-based electrolyte. It is demonstrated that a second amorphous phase is uniformly dispersed around the grain boundary of BaZr0.9Y0.1O3-δ. The electrical properties of the composite under 3% wet H2, 3% wet N2, and dry N2 atmospheres are investigated from 400 °C to 750 °C by AC impedance spectroscopy. The results show that the conductivity of the BaZr0.9Y0.1O3 -δ/ZnO/Na3PO4 ceramic is improved by more than one order of magnitude over the BaZr0.9Y0.1O3-δ/ZnO ceramic under wet H2 atmosphere.
