Abstract
C/Li2MnSiO4 nanocomposite material was obtained by sol-gel method followed by carbon coating process. Then, in electrochemical process C/Li2MnSiO4 composites in different states of charge (pristine, charged, discharged) were prepared. Chemical changes occurring during electrochemical process were examined by XPS measurements. Carbon material rearrangement and formation of more stable ordered graphene domains in the carbon coating were observed and probably induced by the reaction with electrolyte during SEI formation. DSC experiments confirmed that the carbon coating may react with the electrolyte resulting in weak exothermic effect, which diminishes upon electrochemical process. So, sufficient stability towards LiPF6 based electrolyte under electrochemical conditions and slightly elevated temperatures of Li2MnSiO4 material as well as C/Li2MnSiO4 nanocomposite was confirmed.
