Abstract
The coordination of pyridyl-tetrazole derivatives containing carboxylate substituents, at either the N-1 or N-2 position of the tetrazole ring, with zinc(II) chloride results in the formation of metal-organic frameworks. The fluorescence spectroscopy of the resulting structures varied dramatically compared to the spectra of the ligands themselves.
