Abstract
The molecular design and syntheses for a pyrene-based ligand, 1, were discussed. To demonstrate the potential of 1, the corresponding platinum(II) complex (2) was synthesized and characterized. Reflecting the expanded Ï-system of pyrene, bathochromic shift was observed in absorption spectra.
