Abstract
Six Pt(IV) bis(aromatic carboxylato) anticancer prodrugs based on cisplatin or oxaliplatin were tested for their antiproliferative activity against several cancer cell lines. They resulted very potent, but barely soluble in water. Inclusion systems containing β-cyclodextrin and the prototype [Pt(NH3)2Cl2(C6H5COO)2] have been characterized and tested on the same cell lines.
