Hydrothermal synthesis of novel cobalt-organic framework, involving in-situ ligand transformation, DFT calculation, spectroscopic and thermal studies

A novel cobalt-organic frameworks based on 1,10-phenanthroline-5,6-dione was synthesized hydrothermally. The 1-D coordination polymer contains two independent CoII ions were observed in X-ray single crystal structural of the compound. A DFT and TDDFT calculations were employed to gain the electronic structure and absorption spectra of the compound.
