Abstract
A new hydroxy group attached pyridinephophonic acid (H2hppa) was synthesized and used to construct cobalt phosphonates. The layered Co(hppa)(H2O) and pillar-layered [Co(hppa)(L)0.5(H2O)]·H2O cobalt monophosphonates have been structurally and magnetically characterized.
