Synthesis, crystal structures and magnetism of two coordination compounds constructed from 2,5-disulfonylterephthalate ligand

Two new coordination compounds based on the novel 2,5-disulfonylterephthalate formed from in situ reaction, namely, [Ni(2,2′-bpy)(H2O)4](DSBDC)0.5 (1) and [Mn(DSBDC)0.5(2,2′-bpy)(H2O)2]n (2), have been synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, IR, elemental analysis, and thermogravimetric analysis. The magnetic susceptibility data of both compounds have been investigated.
