Abstract
A copper(II) complex possessing a biomimetic imidazole-carboxylate ligand has been synthesized and structurally characterized. In the solid state, a 1-D hydrogen bonded extended structure is present. EPR studies indicate a near axial spectrum with dx2-y2 ground state. TD-DFT studies have been carried out to assigned transitions in the UV-Vis spectrum.
