Abstract
Several divalent first row transition metals complexes were synthesized by direct reaction of the ligand diphenylphosphinomethyl)pyridine N,P dioxide with the corresponding M(BF4)2 salt (MÂ =Â Co2+, Ni2+ or Zn2+). The molecular structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray crystallography showing an octahedral environment around the metal centers. Crystals were isolated in both 2:1 and 3:1 ligand to metal ratio for each metal ion and 1:1 for Ni+2. The ligand-to-metal ratio showed dependence on the reaction time and the temperature.
