Abstract
⺠A 1,8-naphthalimide fluorescent probe based on internal charge transfer was designed. ⺠The probe shows high selectivity towards Cu2+ over other transition metal ions. ⺠The structure of the 1:1 metal-ligand complex was revealed for the first time by XRD experiments.
