Abstract

âº Five-coordinate ferrous-nitrosyl complexes with macrocyclic Schiff base ligands. âº Good models for five-coordinate ferrous heme-nitrosyls. âº NO serves as a strong Ï donor and medium strong Ï acceptor ligand. âº The optical (UV-Vis and MCD) spectra of the complexes are assigned. âº TD-DFT calculations predict metalÂ âÂ Ïâ(NO) transitions in the UV region.
