Abstract
We show that Fe(III) oxyhydroxides, synthesized in the fluoride-containing aqueous solutions, β-FeOOH,F, decompose to hematite at significantly higher temperatures compared to β-FeOOH,Cl precipitated from chloride solutions. This effect is ascribed to different decomposition mechanism of somatoids.
