Abstract
A new, facile strategy for the preparation of sugar-based fluorinated amphiphiles via 'Click Chemistry' is presented. The branched hydrophobic group, bearing multiple, short, non-bioaccumulative perfluoroalkyl chains, is connected with carbohydrates or poly(ethylene glycol) resulting in amphiphilicity of the molecules.
