Abstract
Interactions of abiraterone and galeterone with sterol 14α-demethylase (cytochrome P450 51A1, CYP51A1) were studied by absorbance spectroscopy, electrochemical methods and molecular docking. Both compounds induced type I binding spectra of CYP51A1. While only abiraterone behaved as a substrate in the electrochemical system, mass-spectrometric analysis revealed monohydroxylation of both compounds.301
