Abstract
Aqueous synthetic reactivity in Cr(III)-(HAâ¯=â¯hydroxycarboxylic acid)-(N,N-aromatic chelatorâ¯=â¯phen) (HAâ¯=â¯heidaH2/quinic acid) systems afforded new well-defined pH-structural variants. Physicochemical characterization of all compounds led to structurally-distinct Cr(III) atoxic species investigated in vitro for their adipogenic capacity. The results support structure-specific interactions of Cr(III) with insulin-resistance biomarkers, thereby prompting for development of adipogenic metallodrugs.278
