Abstract
The research revealed that RTHLVFFARK-NH2 (RK10) effectively inhibits β-amyloid (Aβ) aggregation and selectively chelates Cu2+ with high affinity, thus arresting Cu2+-catalyzed generation of reactive oxygen species. The bifunctional and highly selective features make the decapeptide promising as an agent against Cu2+-mediated Aβ aggregation for treatment of Alzheimer's disease.73
