Abstract
The antibiotic and adjuvant antibiotic properties of organotin(IV) chloride and carboxylate derivatives against Staphylococcus aureus strains that overexpress efflux pump proteins were evaluated. Most organotin compounds showed significant antibacterial activity but associated with cytotoxicity. Nevertheless, this toxicity can be overcome when they are used as antibiotic adjuvants.187
