Abstract
Unconventional chiral diamine platinum(II) complexes with phenanthroline-based ligands induce lower cell death than cisplatin and distinct morphological changes in a non-cancerous renal cell line. Unlike cisplatin, this mode of action does not include oxidative stress, G2/M cell cycle arrest or genotoxicity commonly associated with DNA binding drugs.112
