Abstract
The graphical abstract underlines that in bacteria two prototypes of acetate permeases (ActP1 and ActP2) allow the influx of the oxyanion tellurite into cells. However, the bulk of tellurite is transported by the homodimer ActP2, featured by an insert of 15 amino acids that is missing in other ActPs.144
