Abstract
The nickel complexes [Ni(5-X-salo)2(CH3OH)2] and [Ni(2,2â²-dipyridylamine)2(5-X-salo)]Cl (X-saloHÂ =Â substituted salicylaldehyde) were synthesized and characterized by spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry and X-ray crystallography. The complexes bind tightly to calf-thymus DNA probably by intercalation. The interaction of the complexes with serum albumins was also studied revealing relative high binding constants.60
