Abstract
The GaIIIZnII complex of an asymmetric dinucleating ligand with second coordination sphere hydrogen bond donors is shown to be not only a structural model of purple acid phosphatases but is also able to mimic the essential function of these enzymes, i.e. the hydrolysis of phosphomonoesters.169
