Abstract
In a bio-mimetic effort, polyarginine conjugates of a superoxide dismutase mimic based on 1,2-diamino-ethane with a functionalizable secondary amine were synthesized and studied. MnII binding was not impaired, while the redox potential was slightly modified. The cationic peptide enhanced the dismutation, but only the closest charges exerted electrostatic influence.138
