Abstract
Improved synthetic protocols are presented for several free-base β-octabromo-meso-tris(p-X-phenyl)corroles (X = CF3, NO2, F, H, CH3, and OCH3), along with a synthesis of the heretofore inaccessible free-base β-octabromo-meso-tris(2,6-dichlorophenyl)corrole. The latter has also been complexed to provide the first iron octabromocorrole derivatives.184
