Abstract
Hypoxia sensing follows multiple avenues, ranging from cellular responses to changes in vascular tension. A number of molecular players are implicated, including gasogens, sulfur metabolites, and ions. Defining these molecular interactions is key to discovering new biochemistry, and holds promise for future therapeutic targets.
