Abstract
The [2Fe-2S] transcription factor SoxR functions as a bacterial sensor of oxidative stress. The redox-induced structural changes in SoxR are communicated to the DNA-binding domain, leading to distortion in the target promoter. The direct reaction of O2â is an important mechanism for Escherichia coli SoxR signaling.
