Abstract
A new set of bifunctional MMP inhibitors bearing a benzothiazole moiety reveals high inhibitory activity (subnamomolar to high micromolar) against MMP2 and also high anti-proliferative activity of A2780 ovarian cancer cell line. These properties combined with the high resistance to hydrolysis suggest that these compounds may be considered for a new generation of anti-cancer MMPIs.
