Abstract
Re(I) based M4E4L2-type rectangular and hammock shaped tetranuclear metallacyclophanes [{(CO)3Re(μ-ER)2Re(CO)3}2(μ-L)2] (1-7) were synthesized using Re2(CO)10, dialkyl/diaryl dichalcogenide and rigid/semi-rigid ester functionalized pyridine ligands with organic spacers in one-pot reaction. Additionally, the guest binding capability of 2 and 6 with various aromatic diamines were studied.158
