Abstract
Synthetic methodologies for the preparation of Se-ferrocenyl heterocyclic carboselenolates are discussed. Their conversion on silica to form heterocyclic diferrocenyl methanol is reported. The molecular solid state structures of three compounds are reported. Electrochemical investigations show reversible one electron processes. Spectroelectrochemical UV-Vis/NIR studies reveal electronic interaction between the two iron fragments in heterocyclic diferrocenyl methanol compounds.123
