Abstract
A new proton transfer complex, [6,6â²-dmbipy.H]2[PtCl6], and a new cyclometalated complex, mer-[Pt(6,6â²-dmbipy-κ2N,C)Cl3(DMF-κO)], were prepared and their biological properties evaluated. Interestingly, complex, mer-[Pt(6,6â²-dmbipy-κ2N,C)Cl3(DMF-κO)], is more potent in killing a colon cancer cell line than cisplatin, since it exhibits extensively less toxicity on normal cells.
