A catalyst based on a newly designed and synthesized (dicyclohexylphosphino)biphenyl amidosulfonate and [PdCl(η3-C3H5)]2 efficiently mediates Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling of N-Boc protected 4-bromo and 4-chlorophenylalanine with aromatic boronic acids leading to biphenyl-substituted α-amino acids in aqueous reaction media under mild reaction conditions.86
