Abstract
Several new trimetallic Ru(II)- and Os(II)-arene complexes based on tris-2-(salicylaldimine ethyl)amine and tris-2-(2-pyridylimine ethyl)amine scaffolds were synthesized and characterized. These complexes display moderate to high cytotoxicity against human osteosarcoma (MG63) and ovarian cisplatin resistant (A2780cisR) cancer cells. Furthermore, the systems serve as inhibitors and/or poisons to DNA topoisomerase I (Topo I).
