Abstract
Microwave heating is used to rapidly synthesize the osmium(I) carbonyl complexes Os2(μ-sebacate)(CO)6 and [Os2(CO)6]2(μ4-1,3-adamantanediacetate)2 from Os3(CO)12 in a single step. In the diosmium complex, the dicarboxylato ligand forms an intramolecular chelate ring. In the tetraosmium complex, two dicarboxylato ligands form intermolecular bridges between two Os2 units.
