Abstract
The synthesis of ruthenium sandwich and half sandwich complexes with phosphonio substituents attached to the cyclopentadienyl ring is described. The influence of steric and electronic effects of this ionic tag on the catalytic activity in an alkyne-alkene coupling is investigated.
