Abstract

A new Co-based hybrid halide has been prepared. The compound notably undergoes reversible order-disorder type structural phase transition, acts as wide band gap semiconductor showing signs of weak spin-orbit coupling effect and shows sizable magnetocaloric effect at low temperature region.238
