Abstract
Based on a new semirigid bi-functional ligand, two new coordination polymers have been synthesized and characterized. These two compounds have different structures, dimensionalities and topologies. Compound 1 [Cd(mttia)(H2O)]n shows an intense fluorescent emission band while compound 2 [Cu(mttia)]n exhibits a strong antiferromagnetic superexchange between Cu2+ ions.244
