Abstract
Eu3+ doped Gd4Al2O9 (GdAM), GdAlO3 (GdAP), and Gd3Al5O12 (GdAG, containing 10Â at% of Lu3+ for lattice stabilization) have been developed as efficient red-emitting phosphors. Owing to the Gd3+ to Eu3+ energy transfer, improved luminescence is observed for the compounds than their yttrium-based counterparts.
