Abstract
⺠Aqueous co-precipitation yields an amorphous Fe-S precursor. ⺠The amorphous precursor solvothermally crystallizes to form metastable mackinawite. ⺠Mackinawite-type FeS forms as single crystal colloidal nanosheets. ⺠Samples are ferromagnetic with no evidence of superconductivity.
