Abstract
Hierarchical oxide nanostructures were prepared by a method that combines atomic layer deposition with low temperature hydrothermal ZnO growth. A number of ALD seed layers were used to gain different hydrothermally grown nanowires and nanorods. By using further seed layers and growth processes a number of different nanostructures can be produced that can be utilised in sensorics, optoelectronics and hybrid solar cells.
